Nicole
Simms joins the cast of Les Misérables
in one of the most famous roles in modern musical theatre.
A supreme singer, Nicole Simms has been keeping busy fronting in-demand
jazz/ R&B/corporate group, Manhattan.
Nicole featured in the musicals Me and My Girl, Guys and Dolls
and Anything Goes (Theatre Royal/RACT/X-Wellington-Wellington-X);
and she won the hearts of many Tasmanians with her acclaimed performance
as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady (Gilbert and Sullivan Society).
Her most recent theatrical performance was as Jenny-Any-Dots in
CATS at the Derwent
Entertainment Centre and she has appeared in Jesus Christ Superstar,
the Rodger’s and Hammerstein revue Some Enchanted Evening and as
Maureen in the rock musical RENT (ExitLeft Productions).
Other musical theatre credits include, for various companies, the role of
Mary Jane Wilkes in Big River; Jasmin in Beware the Witches!
(Melbourne Comedy Festival); Alice in The Secret Garden; the
Plaintiff in Trial by Jury; and has appeared in Side by Side by
Sondheim and The World Goes Round, a revue of the music of
Kander and Ebb. She has also appeared as as Rizzo in Grease, the
Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and
entranced audiences as Cathy in The Last Five Years alongside Scott
Farrow. Nicole has also performed as a guest soloist at a variety of
musical and corporate events including the City of Hobart Carols by
Candlelight and the production of Handel’s Messiah at the Stanley
Burbury Theatre in 2001.
Nicole has performed by invitation at numerous conventions around the
state and has supported both Marina Prior and Michael Crawford on the
Tasmanian legs of their respective national tours.
