Daniel
Cosgrove
Daniel first started in Hobart thearte at the ripe old age of 12.
Since then he has developed as a singer and actor through the
different styles of productions he has been involved with. From
Christmas pantos to Cats, Daniel has kept himself busy
trying to stay involved with as many productions as time allows
him. He is an ever-improving vocalist and one of the funniest young
men in the business.

Adam
Direen
Adam has just finished Year 12 at Guilford Young College, and has
been involved with performing since primary school. This is the
second outing of Les Mis for Adam, having previously
performed in the 2005 schools production and he loves it! Adam has
just started a traineeship in business, allowing him more time to
focus on performing. He is a firm believer in improvement and his
main goal for the show is simply to learn. He also takes singing
lessons at ExitLeft.

Mark
Fitzpatrick
Mark is a full-time Arts manager enjoying the beginning of what he
hopes will be a long and rewarding career. Mark’s first Les Mis
experience was with ExitLeft Productions in 2000, and he is thrilled
to be singing these wonderful songs again. Mark will travel to
Broadway this year and see how many hours of natural light he can
avoid in theatres along the Great White Way.

Victor
Gralak
Victor has been involved with the dramatic arts ever since he got
his first taste way back in high school. He has made appearances on
television and performed in a wide range of productions over the
years, taking on many different roles in the process. Spurred by
his passion for the arts, Victor aims to become a professional actor
in the future.

Chris
Hamley
Chris has
been involved in lots of theatre since he returned to Hobart with a
Bachelor of Performing Arts in 1996, including directing the 2005
production of Les Misérables Schools Edition (Hobart Theatre
Summer School). Chris is also a drama teacher, having taught at
Elizabeth College from 2003 to 2006 and React Drama School since
2002. His last project was performing in the Botanical Gardens in
Pinocchio (Big Monkey Productions), where he was a cricket, a
ferret, a donkey and a puppet!

Glenn
Jeffrey
Glenn has been performing, designing, stage managing, marketing,
painting and building his way through an array of local productions
for the past eight years, a highlight of which was his set design
for the recent production of Cats. In addition to this,
Glenn is a professional Arts manager and operates Tasmania's
audience research and market development agency, LIVE Performing
Arts Tasmania.

Anna
Kidd
Anna has been involved in theatre since a very young age; her first
appearance on stage was as little Eponine in Les Misérables
in 1995 (G&S Society). She is currently in her last year of a music
theatre degree at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music, and in 2006
won the coveted Conservatorium of Music Directors Prize.

Nicholas King [Mar 26 – 29]
Nicholas is a young actor, singer and writer who loves to entertain,
whatever the medium. He gets asked for his ID quite often, even
though he is 25. He would particularly like to be a film actor one
day, possibly alongside Hugh Jackman. Career highlights include
Pal Joey, Aspects of Love, A Class Act (Conservatorium), 15
Years on Hold, Huckleberry Finn (also producer and director),
Colonial Pictures (IHOS Opera), Cats (ExitLeft);

Lawton
Tom has been immersed in the world of theatre as a performer, stage
technician and director for twelve years. He is currently taking a
one year leave from his Psychology degree at the University of
Tasmania to further his experience and ability in the craft of
acting and singing. Tom hopes to direct both film and theatre
professionally.

Pidd
Thomas has been a consistent face in and around the Hobart's local
theatres over the last 5 years. He keeps busy working full time and
doing children's entertainment on the side on behalf of Make-Believe
Children's Entertainment. Thomas' resume to date looks a bit like

Aaron
Powell
Aaron has worked on and off stage for the past 13 years. He has
sung in the backing choir for Michael Crawford and accompanied
singer Allison Farrow at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. As well as
performing, Aaron works regularly as a musical director, accompanist
and producer. He is currently the Musical Director for the
Australian Rosny Children's Choir and co-founder of local theatre
company Shouting in the Evening.
BAMATABOIS, GRANTAIRE,
ENSEMBLE -
Craig Wood
– (Assistant Musical Director)
Craig is a freelance performer, composer and musical director. He
teaches early learning music at Geoff Long Music in North Hobart and
is Musical Director of the Tasmanian Song Company. In August he
will be producing a concert of his compositions at the Hobart Town
Hall. This is his second Les Mis, having played the role of
Javert in the 2005 summer school production.
ENSEMBLE
- Rebecca Andrews
Rebecca has been performing since she was born and performing on
stage for around four years now. She has sung with ExitLeft
Productions for 6 years and danced and performed with Encore Dance
and Music Theatre School. She enjoys movies, food, music and
travelling and is currently preparing for a seven month backpacking
trip solo around Europe. She has completed her first year of a
Bachelor of Music, majoring in Music Theatre at the Tasmanian
Conservatorium of Music.
ENSEMBLE -
Alissa Bilyk
Alissa has been singing ever since she can remember, but the first
time anyone noticed was when she was thirteen and reciting a line
from Les Misérables. Since then, it has been a very
important show to her, this being her second appearance in it. She
is slightly obsessed with voices, kittens, and a Finnish rock band
called Nightwish.
Singer: Southern
Voices (formerly The Kingston Singers), TUMS, St Cecelia School of
Music, and too many school choirs.
ENSEMBLE - Jessica Davenport-Hortle
Jessica is 19, and about to start a Bachelor of Psychology at the
University of Tasmania. Having completed a gap year in 2007 to work
and become more involved in theatre, she is really excited to be
involved in Les
Misérables
at the
beginning of 2008 and is looking forward to more things to come.
Jess’s other passions include soccer, violin and reading.

Melanie
Irons
Melanie was involved in numerous musicals, theatre productions and
concerts throughout high school, which was some years ago. Her
passion for the stage has not diminished and she is ecstatic to be
back treading the boards again. Melanie is a fitness instructor,
runs her own outdoor fitness business and tutors in French. She is
currently studying her PhD in Psychology at the University of
Tasmania and her Diploma of Languages. She enjoys road cycling and
swimming and is thoroughly enjoying her decision to come back to
theatre as an adult performer, especially as part of such a massive
musical production as Les Miserables.

Karen
Joyce
Karen has been involved in theatre for thirty years, studying dance
and musical theatre performance from a young age under the direction
of Sonny and Adam Jose from Tasmania's leading dance studio S&AJ
Dance Company. She has appeared in numerous gala events and charity
functions including regularly as a dancer at the annual Heart
Foundation Ball at Wrest Point and her most recent appearance was as
Aunty Janet in a classic new wedding reception satire for the MS
Society Tasmania. Karen is thrilled to be back at the Theatre Royal
as part of a spectacular musical production.

Sarah
Morrisey
Sarah began her theatre career in grade six with the part of Chief
Weasel in Toad of Toad Hall. Since then, she has been
involved in theatre productions ranging from music theatre to opera
to straight plays. Most recently, she has just finished her
Bachelor of Music at the Tasmanian Conservatorium with her final
performance being a self-devised cabaret show.

Powell
Katie began dancing at the age of 5 and currently dances with S & AJ
Dance Company. She has competed in both singing and dancing
eisteddfods, and is delighted to be part of this fantastic
production of Les Misérables. Vive la Revolution! South

Laura
Smallbon
Laura is excited at the opportunity to perform in Les Misérables
at the historic Theatre Royal, having relocated from her home in
Devonport for the duration of this fantastic Tasmanian production.
Laura has studied singing and acting for several years and has
danced professionally. Despite the hours of travel for rehearsal,
Laura has enjoyed working alongside some of Tasmania's leading
theatre talent in this massive show.
ENSEMBLE -
Michaela Young
Michaela has been singing and performing since before she can
remember, is passionate about classical music and is very much
looking forward to performing in Les Misérables in between
completing honours in Psychology. Michaela is studying voice with
Jane Edwards and has previously studied with Sharon Prero and Helen
Todd. She regularly performs with choirs and solo around Hobart in
eisteddfods, concerts and recitals.
